Basque writer Rikardo Arregi took part at the Athens World Poetry Festival

The Athens World Poetry Festival was held in in the Greek capital from 21 to 26 September, and Basque writer Rikardo Arregi attended the event with the support of Etxepare Basque Institute. Arregi participated in two recitals at the Acropolis Museum and the Megaron Athens Hall.

This was the second edition for the festival, which for 5 days has becomed Athens a meeting point for the world of poetry. Readings and recitals accompanied by music halls have been held throughout the city as part of the festival. Sixty-nine internationally renowned poets from 22 countries have participated in a festival that maintains that poetry is needed in lean times; one of the was the Basque writer Rikardo Arregi.

The event was driven by the Poets Circle, in collaboration with the City of Athens, the Athens Concert Hall, the Benaki Museum, and other leading cultural institutions and municipalities of the Attica region.
