A playful approach to Basque and Catalan cultures in Mexico

A "Basque-Catalan playday” (Jornada lúdica vasco-catalana), organized at on March 21 at UNAM University in Mexico, will use games to learn about minority cultures. In addition to gaining an understanding of both cultures, the day also seeks to promote the Basque and Catalan studies readerships already consolidated at the university.

In addition to gaining an understanding of both cultures, the day also seeks to promote the Basque and Catalan studies readerships already consolidated at the university.
Throughout the afternoon, from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm, seven games specially created for the event will shed light on the Catalan and Basque cultures. They will focus on areas such as language, film, literature, cuisine, music and customs. At the end of the day different products from both cultures will be raffled.
Admission is free for anyone interested in taking part. There are already more than 40 entries from students of both readerships, members of the Basque diaspora and experts from the university. The conference was organized by the Catalan readership and the Basque language and culture reader Haizea Elizondo, with support from the Etxepare Basque Institute, the Institut Ramon Lull, and ENALLT.
