Annecy Festival: Basque. Audiovisual.

The Annecy festival, one of the most important events in the animation industry, will be held from 1th1 to 17th June. Prominent professionals from the international animation industry will be in attendance at both the festival itself and the MIFA market. The Basque. Audiovisual.  catalogue of films will be there to shine a spotlight on Basque animation.

Basque animation will be well represented:

• ‘Conej Steps Out’ (Pablo Rios 2022) at the Graduation Films in Competition.
• ‘El sueño de la Sultana’  (Isabel Hergera), at the Work in Progress Section. 
• ‘Titán Tofu’  (Maria Luquero), at the Work in Progress Section.
• ‘The Body of Christ’ (Beatriz Lema, WIP), at the Women in Animation from Spain.
• ‘Masked Cindirella’ (Myriam Ballesteros, WIP) at the Cartoon Forum.

With support from Basque. Audiovisual. several Basque production companies will also take part in MIFA aiming to collaborate on co-productions, boost international sales, and explore opportunities for funding.

• ‘Yoko on holyday’ (Juanjo Elordi, Dibulitoon Studio).
• ‘Winnipeg, seeds of hope’ (Elio Quiroga and Beñat Beitia, Dibulitoon Studio).
