SUNS EUROPE is the European festival of performing arts in minority languages that celebrates its third edition at the italian city of Udine, from november 30 to december 2. With the support of the Etxepare Basque Institute, Basque musician La Basu will be at the festival this year.

Started in 2009 as a music contest for minority communities in Alpine-Mediterranean Europe, the festival has now developed into a place of encounter and exchange between artists of minoritized language groups in Europe.

La Basu – who is Elena Caballero Villanueva – is one of the most popular voices of the hip-hop scene in the Basque Country and will be at the festival on november 30. She has been on the music scene since the late 1990s and throughout the years she has intertwined her rhymes in Basque and Spanish with sounds, rhythms and language expressions from rap, soul, reggae, funk, rhythm’n’blues, rock, folk and even flamenco music.
