"Bertsolaria Euskal Herrian & El Payador en Argentina", conference in La Plata

On Thursday, July 17, the Basque bertsolari from Vitoria-Gasteiz  Xabier Rico and the Argentinian payador from Chascomús Juan Alberto Lalanne  will give a conference that will detail the differences and similarities between Basque and American verse improvisers. The talk will be offered at the  Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina.

The conference has been organized by the Basque Language and Culture readership of the Etxepare Basque Institute at the UNLP, that welcomed a new teacher last Spring: Daniel Oiarbide is now in charge of both the college classes and the organization of various activities related to the Basque language and culture, including this interesting chat scheduled for tomorrow. The new academic year will be held in Argentina from May to December.
