Centre des Musiciens du Monde: Mixel Etxekopar, Claudine Arhancet & Darlene Jerome

Vocalists Mixel Etxekopar and Claudine Arhancet will enjoy an art residency at the Centre des Musiciens du Monde in Montreal as part of the Etxepare Basque Institute´s Saison Québec - Pays Basque programme. They will be working in collaboration with musician Darlene Jerome to experiment with the fusion of traditional Basque music and the indigenous Migm´aq culture of Quebec.

The trio formed by Claudine Arhancet (vocals), Mixel Etxekopar (vocals, flutes and tunttuna) and Darlene Gijuminag (vocals and drums) will present the fruits of their creative residency on 7 October in an event entitled ´Lurreko euskaldunengandik lurreko Mi´gmaq-etara´ (´From the Basques of the Earth to the Mi´gmaq of the Earth´.

The event will take place at 7pm at the Church of Saint-Enfant-Jésus in the Mile End district of Montreal.

The following day, 8 October, at 7pm, they will present their work at the Arquemus School of Music in Quebec City.
