The Zinemateka cinema at Azkuna Zentroa closes the year with a monograph of contemporary Japanese films. The nine titles, selected in collaboration with the Etxepare Basque Institute and Madrid’s Fundación Japón, aim to foster a dialogue between manga creation and animated film. This series is a component of the Euskadi Japan 2023 cross-sector exchange project.
"Del manga al cine. Ciclo de cine contemporáneo japonés" (From Manga to Film: Contemporary Japanese Cinema) showcases Japan´s rich audiovisual heritage through the work of filmmakers who have captured the attention of audiences and critics in both Japan and abroad. For this event, the program centres on manga film adaptations, comprising a selection of nine films that showcase the various forms of artistic expression enabled by both manga and cinema.
