Seven Basque music groups will take part in the annual Euskal Herria Sona festival organised by the Euskal Etxea in Barcelona from 6 November to 10 December. In addition to the concerts, there will also be a presentation of Patxi Irurzun’s book: ´Chucherías Herodes´. The event will take place at 7pm on 20 November at the Euskal Etxea.

Patxi Irurzun (Pamplona, 1969) is a writer, journalist, librarian and philologist. Chucherías Hérodes (Guía turística de Jamerdana)´ is a novel about Basque Radical Rock, an accurate generational portrait of the people who were fifteen years old in the 80s and deals with subjects as diverse as job insecurity, class awareness, life on the periphery and the conflict between what we once dreamed of being and what we are now.

The Euskal Etxea of Barcelona is the prime mover behind the festival, which takes place at the Basque centre itself as well as at other recognised venues in the city, with support from the Etxepare Basque Institute. If you want to know more about the programme and each group, all the information is available here.
