Escena Patrimonio: Iratxe Ansa, Larrua Proiektua and Jon Maia

As part of the Etxepare Basque Institute’s ‘Basque Windows’ summer programme, three Basque companies, Proyecto Larrua, Metamorphosis Dance and Kukai Dantza, will take part in the Dance Festival ‘Escena Patrimonio’, held this year from 11 to 18 September, in collaboration with Spanish World Heritage Cities Group. Under the slogan ´Erroak-Raíces´, On September 18th the three companies will perform their pieces adapted to each of these cities´ monumental spaces with the aim of bringing together the expressions of traditional and contemporary Basque dance with the living heritage of Cuenca, Salamanca and Segovia.

In Salamanca, Proyecto Larrua will debut ‘Ojo de buey’, a contemporary dance piece created specially for the event by the Vitoria-based company in collaboration with local musicians. Metamorphosis Dance, featuring Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich, will perform ´REacción´ in Cuenca in collaboration with the Museum of Abstract Art and Espacio Torner. Jon Maya will perform the piece ´Yarín´ in the World Heritage City of Segovia in collaboration with Andrés Marín, one of the most innovative talents in flamenco dance.
