Iberian Film Sessions. That’s the name of a film series hosted by University College Cork in Ireland, where some of the most outstanding films in Basque, Galician, Catalan and Portuguese will be screened.
The initiative, which seeks to shine a light on the films made in these areas was implemented by the Basque, Galician, Catalan and Portuguese readers at the university.
The screenings will be held at the university free of charge and open to the general public.
The program will begin on February 5 and run for two months. Every Wednesday one film - eight in total - will be shown with the original soundtrack and English subtitles. Each session will open with a presentation of the film and will end with a colloquium.
The series will open with the Portuguese film Sao Jorge, and will continue with La vida sense la Sara Amat in Catalan, A Esmorga in Galician, and Handia in Basque.
