MMVV: Maite Larburu + Merina Gris

Thanks to the ´Basque. Music.’ initiative, two Basque groups have been included in the official programme of the 35th Mercat de Música Viva de Vic.

Merina Gris

Merina Gris, a trio hailing from San Sebastian—Sara, Julen, and Paskal—merged their creative forces in 2020, referring to their musical style as "violent pop", In 2022 they released their first album, ´Zerua orain´.

Maite Larburu

Violinist Maite Larburu has worked over the last 15 years with some of the most emblematic Central European early music ensembles. A very versatile artist, Larburu also plays the guitar and sings. After releasing two albums with the band Neighbor, she went solo in 2020. Together with clarinettist Carlos Taroncher and drummer Karlos Arancegui, the three will perform their album Krak. (Zart, 2021).

The 35th MMVV will be held from 13 to 16 September 2023. This vibrant event will once again serve as a catalyst for the music industry, providing a platform for new live music proposals. The full programme is available on the MMVV website.
