Musician Iñaki Salvador and his band will play two concerts at the Kanazawa Jazz Street festival, Japan, on September 14 and 16. The programme features songs from Salvador’s 2010 tribute album to the lauded Basque musician Mikel Laboa, Lilurarik ez – Mikel Laboarekin solasean.

The international fair of classical and contemporary music professionals, Classical:NEXT, will celebrate its 8th edition this year. The event will take place from May 15th to 18th in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), and the Basque band Trío Zukan will be part of it.
Pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque will present the Amoria project tomorrow, April 5th, at the Philharmonie de Paris. This work by the duo from northern Basque Country city of Bayonne explores the history of Basque music over the past 500 years.
Basque artists and creators showcase their talent in over 20 events slated throughout 2019. The initiative, supported by Basque institutions, seeks to create bonds through culture, art and language. The youth group of the Choral Society of Bilbao, Euskeria Choir, will give three performances in the Scottish capital, with the help of the Provincial Government of Bizkaia and the Etxepare Basque Institute. Fair Saturday, a festival which started in 2015 in Bilbao, will be held this year in Edinburgh for the first time, and Euskeria Choir will perform as part of the opening ceremony.
WOMEX , the most important international market of world music, will open its doors from October 24 to 28. This year the trade show will be held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, and the registration period is now open.
Last night was the night for Basque music, the night of the “Musika Bulegoa Sariak 2017” awards. The venue chosen to celebrate the best music of the year was Musikene, the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country in San Sebastian. The event brought together some of the leading figures in Basque music today, including musicians, music creators, and industry professionals, as well as representatives from the public institutions – headed by Bingen Zupiria, the Basque Minister of Culture. Traditional, jazz, rock, folk, contemporary... the musical gala reflected the diversity of Basque music.

The 11th World Symposium on Choral Music will be held in Barcelona, from 22nd to 29th July 2017, where the Basque Country will be represented by KUP taldea, under the baton of their conductor, Gabriel Baltes. This one-week event will see Barcelona become the only place to be for singers, conductors, amateur and professional musicians, publishers and for all lovers of choral music. For seven days, there will be conferences, workshops, master classes, concerts, new pieces to be presented and performed and much more, offered by conductors, professionals and internationally-renowned choirs.
The Confederation of Choirs of the Basque Country - Euskal Herriko Abesbatzen Elkartea (EAE) has edited AHAIRE, an anthology of Basque music with 50 works for mixed choir. The book was presented at a press conference at the Etxepare Basque Institute, which was attended by the Minister of Culture and Language Policy, Bingen Zupiria; the director of the Etxepare Basque Institute, Miren Arzalluz; the President of the Confederation of Choirs of the Basque Country, Enrique Azurza; and the representative of the Mikel Laboa Chair of the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU), Pio Pérez.
