Poetry translation seminar in Vitoria-Gasteiz

A poetry translation seminar will be held in Vitoria-Gasteiz from 4th to 7th February. Four Basque poets, two catalan poets and seven translators will reflect on theoretical and practical aspects of the translating process. On Monday they will offer a poetry reading at the Faculty of Arts of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
In 2015 the Etxepare Basque Institute and Institució de Lletres Catalanes (ILC) organized a poetry translation seminar in Catalonia. Tere Irastorza and Karlos Linazasoro were the Basque poets invited to share their experience with a group of Catalan poets and translators in Farrera de Pallars.
The return journey will take place from 4th to 7th February in Vitoria-Gasteiz. This time Catalan poets Esteve Plantada and Gràcia Jiménez will visit the Basque Country with the same purpose. Basque poets Itxaro Borda, Leire Bilbao, Juan Kruz Igerabide and Beñat Sarasola and the translators Gerardo Markuleta, Elizabete Manterola, Joannes Jauregi, Aritz Galarraga and Josu Zabaleta will participate and Amaia Apalauza will lead the seminar.
On Monday, February 6, at 16:00, a poetry reading will be held at the Faculty of Arts of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
