The 24th edition of the dFERIA Festival of Performing Arts will be held in San Sebastian from March 5th to 8th, and the Etxepare Basque Institute will once again be working to raise the international profile of Basque creation.

Within the framework of the Aquitaine.eus project, four of the plays performed at the fair have been subtitled in English and French so that international programmers can enjoy them: La casa de la llave (Tanttaka Teatroa), Sherezade y las capas de la cebolla (Vaiven Produccciones), Dos Hermanas (Théâtre des chimères) and Esto no me lo esperaba (Zanguango Theater).

The Institute will also participate in one of the professional conferences organized by the fair. A gathering of representatives from international festivals and cultural organizations will take place on March 5th from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre. Attending the meeting will be people from the Goethe Institute of Germany, the Etxepare Basque Institute, Iberescena, the Cultural Direction of Navarre, REDELAE, and festival programmers from around the world.

Once again, dFERIA abroad, an initiative of the Etxepare Institute and the Victoria Eugenia Theatre that encourages the participation of Basque companies in international platforms will also be launched. Among others, a Basque window will be open at the MAPAS festival in Tenerife, where shows by the companies Kukai & Brodas bros (Topa), Ertza (Meeting point), Amaia Elizaran (Raw – Pool) will be performed.
