The European students dive into the Basque language in Zornotza
Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
Since Tuesday July 1st, 20 students of the European Basque language and culture readerships of the Etxepare Basque Institute are spending 15 days at the Barnetegi of Zornotza, in two separate turns. The students are willing to learn Basque language and culture and are really enjoying the chance to be here.
The project, organized in collaboration between the Etxepare Basque Institute and Aurten Bai Foundation, started in winter, with the participation of five international students.
The Summer season students have come from different universities through Europe: Universität Konstanz, Universität Leipzig, University of Liverpool, Lomonosov Unibertsity of Mosku, Poznan University, Freie Universitat Berlin, University of Birmingham, Boise University, Chicago University, University of Bolonia, Univerdiad Complutense de Madrid, University college of Cork, Johan WOlfrang Goethe Universitat Frankfurt Main, University of California (Santa Barbara), Paris 3 – Sorbonne Nouvelle, Masaryk Unibersity, Varsovia University, and Universidad de Venezia Ca´ Foscari.
One of the students will be the Polish Matylda Figlerowicz, winner of "Aurten, euskara bai!" competition, from Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznan). To take part in the competition the students wrote about their relationship with the euskera (in Basque), and the winner has been given a place in the summer-term stay in the Barnetegi, with covered expenses.
