Beatriz Chivite will read one of her poems, ‘Abstentzioa’ (Abstenction), in Venice on September 29th, followed by a discussion open to the public. The event is organised by the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies of Ca´Foscari University of Venice.

Beatriz Chivite Ezkieta (Pamplona, 1991) is a writer from Navarra. She studied Chinese Philology and the History of Oriental Art in London. Her first book of poems, ‘Pekineko kea’ (2017, Pamiela), won the 2012 Poetry Competition organised by Pamplona City Council. In 2014, she won the Ernestina Champourcin Poetry Competition with her book ´Metro´ (2014, Provincial Council of Alava). In 2015, the same book won her the Lauaxeta Poetry Prize from the Provincial Council of Bizkaia. In 2016, she won the Youth Prize from the Government of Navarra and the Blas de Otero Poetry Competition awarded by the Bilbao City Council with her book ´Biennale´ (2017, Erein). In 2017, she took part in the creative residency ‘Beste Hitzak-Other Words’ promoted by Donostia Kultura and Donostia 2016 in Slovenia. In 2000, her book ‘En las ciudades. Nas cidades. Hirietan’ was published by Papeles Mínimos.
