Wroclaw has welcomed the Basque culture at the BASK festival

Wroclaw has become a meeting point for Basque and Polish culture this weekend thanks to the BASK festival organized by the cultural capital of the city. The event has hosted workshops, artistic interventions, exhibitions, concerts ... in the Villa Parkowa building, restored for the occasion.
The artists that during three years have participated in the artist residency program ´Joan etorriak´ organized by the Etxepare Basque Institute and Donostia 2016 Foundation in collaboration with A-I-R Wro have also participated in the festival, along with the heads of the program: Goiatz Labandibar, Maialen Sarasua, Jaime de los Rios, Ainara LeGardon, Diego Vivanco and Aitor Gametxo. The artists have taken part in a workshop where they have shared and discussed their experiences. In addition, during the 3 days of festival an exhibition of the works created in these residences has been displayed.
The day workshops have been continued with the night festive atmosphere. On Saturday evening Ainara leGardon offered a concert where a considerable number of attendees were gathered at Villa Parkowa. The DJs of Zarautz ´The Marines’ have also set the Polish cultural capital.
THE BASK festival was held from 1 to 3 July for the fourth consecutive time, and the theme of this year´s edition has been GAME || JOKOA, understood in the context of artistic activities as such and in the context of documenting entertainment.
