Basque culture at the University of Liverpool: Lourdes Otaegi and "The search of Emak Bakia"

From 2 to 6 November, the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Liverpool has organized the Iberian and Latin American Week 2015. Within the program, they have planned two events related to Basque culture, in collaboration with the readership of Culture and Basque Language of the Etxepare Basque Institute at the university: a talk by Lourdes Otaegi and the screening of of "The Search of Emak Bakia".

Both events will be held on November 3. Lourdes Otaegi will discuss, via Skype, how the Basque nation has been represented in Basque poetry throughout the 20th century: ´¿Dónde está Basques´ Harbour?: Images of the nation in 20th century Basque poetry´. In the evening, however, Oskar Alegria´s film "The Search of Emak Bakia" (2012) will be screened in Basque language, with English subtitles.
