Promoting Basque language
Promoting Basque language

Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
With the aim of raising the international profile of the Basque language and culture and creating encounters with other languages and communities, the Etxepare Basque Institute promotes Basque studies in international universities and institutions of higher education through the Basque language and culture readership programme. We also foster research on Euskara and Basque culture through Basque studies chairs created at leading universities around the world.
One of our tasks is to promote knowledge of the Basque language among Basque communities abroad. The Euskara Munduan (Euskara in the world) programme was set up for this purpose.
We also work to disseminate a greater knowledge of the Basque language and its social and cultural context at international conferences on language and culture, and in academic forums and networks.
