Basque teachers meet in Boise
Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
A meeting of Basque teachers from Basque schools in North America was held in Boise on November 2nd and 3rd, organised by the Basque Center of Boise and the Etxepare Basque Institute. The meeting aimed to provide ongoing training for teachers and to share teaching resources and best practices.
The meeting was directed by the coordinator of the Euskara Munduan programme, Kinku Zinkunegi, and was attended by 18 teachers (8 on-site and 10 on-line) from Santa Barbara, Boise, Reno, Homedale, Montreal and from some other places in Oregon and Wyoming.
They discussed various topics, including ways to promote oral expression among students, especially since online classes often limit opportunities for them to express themselves in Basque and practice the language. They also explored activities and games that enable the use of Basque among students and the Euskal Etxeak Basque center community. They also presented Ingura, the online platform for learning Basque promoted by HABE.
