Leipzig University: Yogurinha Borova

On Monday, December 14th, at 7pm Leipzig University´s Basque Lectureship (Baskisch Lektorat) will present a talk in Spanish by Basque performer Yogurinha Borova called La sociolingüística del cabaret: performers, drags y lenguas minoritarias (The sociolinguistics of cabaret: performers, drag queens and minority languages). Borova, a cabaret performer and drag queen who is well-known in the Basque Country, will talk about their own professional career and the use of Basque and other minority languages in shows by performers and drag queens in the Basque Country and other parts of Spain.

This is a unique opportunity to learn about the behind-the-scenes world of nighttime entertainment and the progress made in the LGBTI community. Borova will also talk about how performers and drag queens have become more visible in the public eye and their relationship with minority languages such as Basque.
