Nere Lete, reader of the Etxepare Basque Institute and director of the Basque Studies Minor of Boise State University, was nominated for the Golden Apple Award and received honorable mention. Congratulations! There were 280 nominations and 22 professors were selected to receive honorable mentions. Nere is the director of the Basque Studies Minor, and the instructor for the Basque language course offerings at Boise State which has won the praise of students.
The Golden Apple Award is the name for several unrelated awards given to educators in various school districts in the United States. This tribute reaches back twenty years and is the single most prestigious form of recognition conferred by students to their professors, and five of those went to teachers in the World Languages department where Nere is based.
