Since 2012, the Etxepare Basque Institute has been working with the Fest´Arts festival to promote Basque street theatre internationally. Through the "Euskadi à Libourne" programme, Basque companies have the opportunity to perform shows as part of the festival programme. This year two Basque companies will take part in this Basque window: KpiqA Collective and Proyecto Larrua.
Kpiqa Collective will present Eight, a show based on the number 8, a perfect number in terms of form. Proyecto Larrua will go to Libourne with Larrua, a choreographic piece designed for urban spaces that mixes contemporary dance and break dance.
In addition, the festival will host a meeting on August 3 at 1:00pm between professionals from Aquitaine and the Basque Country which will also be attended by the Director of Culture of the Etxepare Basque Institute, Irene Larraza, along with Basque companies ,and programmers and representatives of Aquitaine institutions.
The collaboration between the festival and the Institute is part of the Aquitaine.eus project, aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two territories. The project was launched in January 2016 through a partnership between the Euroregion Aquitaine Euskadi - comprised of the Basque Government and the Region of Nouvelle Aquitaine - the Etxepare Basque Institute, and Euskal Kultur Erakundea-Institut Culturel Basque.
