Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
Yesterday, March 8, a meeting between cultural organizations and programmers of Aquitaine and Euskadi was held at the headquarters of the Etxepare Basque Institute. This meeting has been organized thanks to the recently signed cultural agreement Aquitaine.eus, and is part of performing arts fair DFeria. The objectives of the meeting were to crate relations among the participants and to explore possibilities for future collaborative works. The participants who attended the meeting stressed the need of collaboration and teamwork to face the future; and this need will be materialized with the continuation of the meeting at the fair Umore Azoka of Leioa in May, in the FestÀrts Libourne festival in August, and Donostia in autumn.
The meeting was attended by the following entities and programmers: The Euroregion Akitania-Euskadi, Euskal Antzokien Sarea, Leioako Umore Azoka, Libourne FestÀrts, Bordeaux Scéne Nationale, Bayonne Scéne Nationale, OARA (Office Artistique de la Region Aquitaine), DFeria, Etxepare Basque Institute, Glob Théâtre de Bordeaux, Institut Français of Bilbao, ELAE, ACE and Théâtre Olympia d’Arcachon.
The meeting is part of the program of the performing arts fair dFeria, organized in Donostia from May 7 to 10, and it was possible thanks to the cultural project Aquitaine.eus. Aquitaine.eus is the result of an agreement signed between Euskadi Aquitaine Euroregion, disegned by the Basque Government and the Region of Aquitaine-Limousin-Poitou-Charentes, the Etxepare Basque Institute and Euskal Kultur Erakundea -Institut Culturel Basque EKE. Through this agreement the signatory institutions undertake to work together in two ways: firstly, they will include works by Basque artists from both sides of the border at festivals and events of Aquitaine, in different disciplines; on the other, they will promote relations and cross-border cooperation between creators and agents of Aquitaine and Euskadi.
