A wide Basque representation at the Berlinale
Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
Basque Audiovisual, the brand that represents the Basque audiovisual sector, takes part in the 66th International Film Festival of Berlin thanks to Zineuskadi and Basque Government, with the collaboration of the Etxepare Basque Institute. Throughout the festival, which starts today and lasts until February 20, Basque Audiovisual will present and announce the 32 film projects that are collected at the catalogue designed for the occasion. Taking advantage of the impressive showcase that festival offers, the works of 22 producers will be released, most of them fiction films and documentaries. Berlinale will offer the opportunity to find partners to develop, distribute and finance projects.
In order to optimize resources, the Basque representation goes to Berlinale with an almost closed agenda. They also have the help of the Basque Government, which provides them a match maker during the festival. His/her work will promote meetings to facilitate co-production, distribution and sales of Basque audiovisual products presented in Berlin.
Euskadi will take part, for the first time, with its own physical space at the European Film Market in Berlin (organized by Zineuskadi / Creative Europe Media Euskadi, with the help of the Etxepare Basque Institute), one of the most important spaces for the film industry where our producers can organize meetings or presentations. They will come to this space 10 Basque producers will be there - Lumiere produkzioak, Astronauta producciones, Eduardo Carneros, Atera Films, Arena Comunicación, Mugaritz, Txintxua Films, Kinoskopik, Izar Films and Lamia Producciones- together with the Film Commissions of Bizkaia and Donostia.
