Annamalai and Gorbeia mountains, at the exhibition of Jasone Miranda Bilbao at the Kochi-Muzuris Biennal

Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.

2014-12-17

Annamalai and Gorbeia. The artist Jasone Miranda-Bilbao has gathered these two mountains in an exhibition in Kochi-Muzuris Biennal (India).

"Annamalai and Gorbeia: Two Mountains" has being developed especially for this occasion in Kochi. The work consists of a large installation of posters made with photographs of two mountains, Annamalai in Tamil Nadu and Gorbeia in the Basque Country, glued directly onto the walls of the gallery’s courtyard. A text written by the artist placed near the images suggests a connection between geology and the myths and stories that have grown around them. It appears in Tamil and Euskera as well as English. First two are the languages spoken in these locations. The project has being made with the assistance of the Etxepare Basque Institute and the  NIV Art Centre of Delhi.

The artist has taken part in two more exhibitions at Delhi.
