Applications now open for the Jon Bilbao Visiting Research Fellow

The Etxepare Basque Institute and the Nevada System of Higher Education have opened a new call for applications to select the researcher who will hold the Jon Bilbao Chair at the University of Nevada, Reno (USA). The application period will remain open from February 17 to March 17.
The selected researcher will undertake a one-month research stay at the University of Nevada, Reno, between September 1 and December 10, 2026, and will carry out a research project focused on the Basque Diaspora. Jon Bilbao Chair
Established in 2014, the Jon Bilbao Chair aims to promote and strengthen, in collaboration with international academic institutions, research and knowledge on the Basque Diaspora and Basque culture. The Chair offers a research fellowship for a visiting scholar — the Jon Bilbao Visiting Research Fellow — and is renewed on an annual or biennial basis. It is hosted at the Center for Basque Studies (CBS) at the University of Nevada, Reno, the leading reference centre in the United States for teaching and research on the Basque Diaspora.
