Basque companies Organik and Ertza will attend the fair Fira Mediterránia Manresa
Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
From Thursday to Sunday -15 to 18 October-, the Catalan fair of performing arts and dance Fira Mediterrània Manresa will open. Thanks to the agreement that the Etxepare Basque Institute has with the important fair to guarantee the presence of Basque companies, Organik and Ertza will attend the fair this year. Both will perform on Saturday, October 17.
The Basque company Ertza proposes “El Show del espectador”, a show within a show to travel into the viewer´s mind, using the dance-theater with live music. With this mixture of languages they reflect on the viewer´s position towards art, starting from the unconscious prejudice, to the conscious critique.
The experiences of a champion of pelota guides the argument of "Txapeldun", the last show of the dance company Organik, that returns to Catalonia after the success of "Carneros". The ingredients of the show are the usual ones in their works: body language through movement and word and music composition, in this case by the accordionist Kepa Junkera.
FIRA Mediterrània Manresa is held annually since 1998 and has become a framework for exchanges between professionals who buy and sell shows. The artistic program is based on two key areas: popular culture and world-above music.
