The festival organized by the Euskal Etxea Basque Centre of Barcelona celebrates its anniversary through December 2 with a diverse programme of music and other events. This year’s festival aims to build bridges between Catalan and Basque music.
This edition is structured in three main areas: Thursday concerts with a 1 + 1 Catalan and Basque group format; concerts in concert halls throughout the city, and in smaller venues including the clubs BeGood and Sidecar; and larger format concerts featuring groups popular in both Catalonia and the Basque Country. Well-known bands like Esne Beltza, Joseba Irazoki, Doctor Deseo, Zea Mays and Niña Coyote eta Chico Tornado will be in Barcelona.
Each year, EH (Euskal Herria) Sona also reaches out to other audiences through ALTEREHSONA, a series of parallel activities. In this edition, activities will include a tour "through another type of scenarios" with journalist Nando Cruz. Participants will also have the chance to taste ‘pintxos’ inspired by the musical groups taking part in the festival. Finally, a photographic exhibition with work by Xavier Marcadé and Jordi Borràs and posters by Igotz Ziarreta, designer from the Euskal Etxea, will be displayed in the Centre Civic Pati Llimona.
