Basque performing arts at the Fira Tàrrega

 From 8 to 11 September the FiraTàrrega fair will become an international meeting point for the performing arts. Companies around the world will attend the market, including the Basque representation: the Basque groups Kukai Dantza and Dikothomia will attend FiraTàrrega with the support of the Etxepare Basque Institute. On the other hand, Also this year, they have organized the stand Euskal Teatroa of the Basque Government, which has been a showcase for Basque companies, supporting and giving visibility to their works.

On the 9th a presentation of Basque street theatre has been organized under the name CASA, where the Etxepare Basque Institute, Leioako Umore Azoka and Artekale will offer presentations. On the 10th, however, the Kukai Dantza and Dikothomia companies will have the opportunity to present their projects in the stand Euskal Teatroa.

Kukai Dantza offers contemporary dance based on the most deep-rooted traditions of culture from the Basque Country and will attend tha fair with the show Oskara. The company is considered to be a reference point in present-day culture in the Basque Country thanks to an original new style which is recognisable on the international scene. It puts on contemporary shows based on traditional Basque dance.

Dikothomia, however, will come with Spazi…O: a show of spaces without space, imaginary partitions with separate simultaneous realities, where cash has no practical value. A woman, a man and all their relationships: two friends, a couple, those children, those elders, a father and his daughter ... Transforming the lethargy of living with an unexpected ending.
