Call for communication proposals for the third edition of La Spagna Plurale

La Spagna Plurale , an event organized by the Scuola di Lingue e Letterature, Traduzione e Interpretazione and the Dipartimento di Lingue, Letterature e Culture Moderne at the University of Bologna in 2016 has reached its third edition. Created in 2012, the goal of this program is to study and reflect on linguistic, artistic and historical aspects of the different languages and cultures existing in Spain.
The third edition of the conference named La Spagna Plurale III: pluralità, diversità e visibilità di genere will address the issue of gender discourse with the intention of examining the way in which different languages and cultures have dealt with this aspect.
During the last decades the feminist groups, and groups for LGBT diversity and equality have helped to broaden the concept of liberty and put on public value. Many have been the legal, social and cultural changes that in this regard have taken place in the contemporary period. Numerous voices and studies have explored the multiple facets that these changes involve and their reflection in language and literature.The Spagna Plurale III aims to reflect on the idea of plurality of gender. To this end, they invited to submit communication proposals sticking to some of the themes proposed.
Gender plurality of language and linguistics. Inclusive language. Visibility of gender models. Feminist discourse. Translation. Linguistic institutions and treatment of gender.
Gender plurality in history and culture. Social movements in the Spanish State. Critical discourses in the Transition. Demonstrations and demands in contemporary Spain.
Gender plurality in literature. Images of women in Catalan, Spanish, Galician or Basque literature. Gender in the narrative, poetry or contemporary theater. Gay literature in Spain. Women in publishing: publishing, thematic collections. The woman at the institutional level: from the academies to the national awards.
Spagna Plurale III: pluralità, diversità e visibilità di genere will take place on 2, 3 and March 4 of 2016 at the University of Bologna.
The proposals for communication may be sent until the day October 1, 2015 to the following address: diplingmod.spagnaplurale@unibo.it. Participants will be communicated about the acceptance or the rejection of their proposals in a short period of. Communications may not exceed 20 minutes and can be presented in Italian, Catalan, Spanish, Galician or Basque.
