The theatre company Kulunka Teatro was one of the 24 companies selected to pitch a project before a panel of experts at CINARS Web from November 9th to 13th. This is an opportunity to continue distributing the companies’ work abroad and to create new alliances.
The pitching sessions are divided into four days, with 6 projects per day. On November 13th at 9:30 am (EST), 3:30 pm in Euskadi, Kulunka will present "Andre and Dorin". This is emotion-packed silent mask theatre, a play has excited audiences for over ten years in more than 30 countries.
CINARS is a non-profit organization located in Montreal whose mission is to promote and support the Quebec and Canadian performing arts. Although the CINARS Biennial is its main activity, celebrating its 19th edition in May next year, activities also take place throught the year. Among them, are these conferences held online this year.
As part of its mission to promote Basque culture abroad, the Etxepare Basque Institute has had the opportunity to support several of Kulunka’s productions abroad. Among them, "Andre and Dorin" in the CINARS Biennial 2021. This activity is part of the Saison Québec-Pays Basque initiative promoted by the Etxepare Basque Institute.
The goal of Saison Québec-Pays Basque initiative is to introduce the cultural dimension into international relations between the two regions, to strengthen ties, build bridges and reinforce cooperation between creators and cultural stakeholders, and promote cultural and academic exchange. To this end, more than 20 cultural and academic activities are planned on both sides of the Atlantic for 2021.
