Dancing with Basque companies at Fira Tàrrega

Basque companies will once again be at Fira Tàrrega, the performing arts fair organized annually in Catalonia. Created in 1981, each year Fira Tarrega is a meeting point for Basque companies. In addition to the Basque Theater stand, which will showcase Basque productions and meetings with programmers, three Basque companies will visit Tarrega: Kukai, Ertza and Natxo Montero Dantza.

In addition to the Basque Theater stand, which will showcase Basque productions and meetings with programmers, three Basque companies will visit Tarrega: Kukai, Ertza and Natxo Montero Dantza.
Kukai Dantza will perform the show ´Topa´ on Friday and Saturday. After the success of ´Oskara´, which led the company directed by Jon Maya to win the Max Prize, ´Topa´ is their first collaboration with the Catalans Brodas Bros, a show full of energy.
On Saturday and Sunday, Ertza will present ´Meeting Point´ in Plaça Mayor. The show directed and choreographed by Asier Zabaleta fuses hip hop and break dance to tell a story that reflects on how labyrinths of people are intertwined and how this causes irreversible changes.
Finally, Natxo Montero Dantza will perform ´Barbecho Urbano´ on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This 25-minute show presents the earth as a metaphor for waiting and changing to a new cycle.
Basque companies will have their own showcase at the Basque Government´s Basque Theater stand. Meetings have also been organized with 12 programmers, and Basque companies will have the chance to present their works on Saturday.
Fira Tarrega is a gathering place and international reference for debate. The main objective of the Fira is to revitalize the performing arts market, and help companies raise their international presence.
