The 10th edition of the MIN Awards was marked by a significant female presence among nominees and winners. Catalonian-born María Arnal and Marcel Bagés won all four awards they were nominated for.

The Etxepare Basque Institute has been sponsoring the Award for Best Album in Basque since 2014 to draw attention to music created in the Basque language. In previous years the winners were Berri Txarrak, Jabier Muguruza and Niña Coyote eta Chico Tornado.

Organized by the Independent Phonographic Union, since 2009 the MIN Awards have recognized the creation, diversity and artistic quality of independent productions published in Spain. Every year they promote, at the national and international levels, the music published by SMEs in the music sector. The MIN Awards introduce emerging artists to new audiences, bringing the music and production process to the public and consolidating the recognition of creative activity.
