The Euskal Etxea of Berlin has organized the II Baskisches Kino Fest Basque film festival, that will start tomorrow, November 13. During the 4 days of the festival the audiovisual works Alardearen seme alabak, The Search for Emak Bakia, Asier ETA Biok and a selection of short films by Kimuak –created in collaboration with the Etxepare Basque Institute- will be screened.

On Thursday, November 13 at 20:00, director Jone Karres will present her documentary Alardearen seme alabak , and there will be a discussion after the film where attendees can take part. The documentary includes testimonies for and against the participation of women in the “alarde” (kind of parades in some villages of the Basque Country).

On November 14, Friday at 20:00, Oskar Alegria will present his successful work The search for Emak Bakia, where the audience will also enjoy the author´s talk after the screening. The film tells the story of a quest; Man Ray filmed a house called Emak Bakia in his film of the same name in 1926. Oskar Alegria decided to look for that house.

The Saturday will see Asier ETA biok and the cycle will end on Sunday with a selection of short films by Kimuak.
