"Euskararen Mundua eta ezagutza", at the Education Museum of UPV-EHU
Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.
On August 4, the Director for the Promotion and Dissemination of the Basque language of the Etxepare Basque Institute Mari Jose Olaziregi, and Mikel Irizar, Director of Linguistic Equality of the Council of Gipuzkoa, visited the Museum of Education at the University of The Basque Country. Luis Mari Naya, professor at the University of the Basque Country, showed them the four main areas of the museum.
Pauli Davila and Naya are the main drivers of the museum, which aims to recover and publicize the historical memory of education in the Basque Country. They visited the Etxepare Basque Institute to learn more about the activities and agreements leaded by the Institute in its mission of spreading the Basque language, and thus is collected in the space "Euskarren Mundua eta Hezkuntza".
Visitors can write to the hezkuntzamuseoa@ehu.eus address to receive information about the museum. As specified in the information brochure, in addition to the common goals of educational museums (to catalog and take care of the historical legacy of education), they also aim the analysis, study and didactic use of that legacy. Congratulations to the Davila and Naya doctors and all their research team!
