Hiri-kit. A guide to get to know the city, by Matxalen de Pedro

Euskara. Kultura. Mundura.

2015-02-24

Matxalen de Pedro, member of the collective Horman Poster, presented "Hiri-kit" to the call for artistic residencies in Wroclaw 2014, and the project proved to be one of the chosen ones.

"Hiri-kit" offered the opportunity to plunge into the urban landscape through the coexistence of the people living in Wroclaw and visitors, in the Summer of 2014, turning the city into a meeting, memory, fiction. Through a map with some indications and especially with the aid of an audio-guide, the citizens of Wroclaw had the opportunity to tour the city with the help of another voice and another look through a performative perception of the urban environment: they could get lost in it and feel the beat of a new city. "Hiri-kit" got the vision of an alien who arrives to Wroclaw for the first time; that vision of Matxalen de Pedro, Basque European.

Later, in November, in line with the exhibition organized at its headquarters by DSS2016, the collective launched a reduced version of the experience, this time in Donostia. This video summarizes the performance:
