This year’s Iberian and Latin American Week will take place from Monday 31st October to Thursday 3rd November with film screenings, language tasters, cultural workshops and exhibitions. The week will feature a taste of the languages, literature, visual arts, and musical traditions of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.
As part of Iberian and Latin American Week 2022 and in collaboration with the Etxepare Basque Institute, on November 2, there will be an online presentation titled Euskara, the Basque language by Aritz Branton, a Basque-English translator educated in the UK who moved to the Basque Country around 15 years ago and has since lived and worked there. Aritz will be happy to take questions about his career as translator and publisher.
Aritz Branton (UK, 1964) graduated in English and History from the University of Salford (1986). He worked as a translator in the UK before moving to the Basque Country. He works in Basque and English as a translator and university lecturer. Branton is also the founder and manager of booktegi.eus, an online platform that publishes Basque literature written in Basque as well as translations.
