Raven Row presents the work of Ibon Aranberri in his first solo exhibition in the UK –supported by the Etxepare Basque Institute.

Ibon Aranberri will present his first UK show, with support from the Etxepare Basque Institute, at London’s Raven Row gallery. Aranberri’s solo exhibition, ‘Unequal Diameters, will run from June 22nd to August 27th. The exhibition is sponsored by the Etxepare Basque Institute to promote Basque creativity internationally.

´Unequal Diameters´ will offer an array of objects, films and photographs that recount and reconfigure half-familiar situations and forms, among them a mountaineering expedition, drawings for trainee steel welders, makeshift urban security, a habitat for bats, and the armature of a statue.

Ibon Aranberri explores the relationship between nature and culture through sculpture, photography, film, and collaborative practice. The core focus of his work revolves around the human impact on the natural environment. Aranberri has had solo shows at various institutions including the Secession exhibition hall in Vienna, Fundació Tàpies, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, and Kunsthalle Basel. He has also participated in international exhibitions including Documenta 12 (2007), the Sydney Biennale, and the Busan Biennale. In November 2023, he will take part in group exhibitions at the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid and the Artium Museum in Vitoria.

Raven Row is a contemporary art exhibition centre in London’s Spitalfields area. The Raven Row programme is designed to cater to both specialised and general audiences. Its primary objective is to explore art beyond the limitations of the market. The program curates exceptional artwork, frequently featuring internationally renowned artists.
