Jean Haritschelhar Chair 2025: Jennifer Green

Jennifer Green, a researcher at the University of Melbourne´s School of Languages, will serve as a visiting researcher at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne from June 10 to June 18. This opportunity is part of the Jean Haritschelhar Chair, promoted by the Etxepare Basque Institute. 

Green will discuss verbal and visual art in Central Australia. As part of the program, two key events will be held: a presentation in Bayonne on June 12 and a presentation with a workshop in Bordeaux on June 16.

On June 12, Green will give a talk at the Euskal Museoa in Bayonne, along with the collaboration of EKE Euskal Kultur Erakundea, on the theme ´Drawn from the Earth: Verbal and Visual Art in Central Australia´. She will discuss the unique traditions of Aboriginal peoples and the creation of oral and visual art in the deserts of Central Australia.

On June 16, a full-day event will be held in Bordeaux.

The Jean Haritschelhar Chair at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne is one of the programmes promoted by the Etxepare Basque Institute at international universities. Created in 2016, this chair promotes Basque studies, especially literature and linguistics, and Iberian studies.
