Kirmen Uribe and Harkaitz Cano bring the Basque literature to Gothenburg

The Basque literature will have a major presence this week in the Swedish city of Gothenburg, with the presence of writers Kirmen Uribe and Harkaitz Cano, as weel as Mari Jose Olaziregi, director for the Promotion and Dissemination of the Basque Language of the Etxepare Basque Institute.
On one hand, the three of them will participate on Friday 25 at a conference to be held at the University of Gothenburg, where they will discussed the role of Basque writers in the Basque society; the meeting will be moderated by Johann Järlehed.
Furthermore, the Etxepare Basque Institute will promote the Basque literature at the international fair Bokmassan Göteborg Book Fair from 24 to 27 September. In addition to disseminating information about Basque creators at the stand, the institute has already closed several meetings with editors and experts from various countries in the search of new markets and routes of internationalization for our literature.
In addition, Etxepare has also organized a series of activities within the program of the fair. On September 25 Kirmen Uribe and Harkaitz Cano will offer poetry readings in the space called "Poetry Room" and Mari Jose Olaziregi will offer a talk with Dolores Vilavedra, member of the consello Galegol.
On September 26 Kirmen Uribe and the Catalan writer Milena Busquets will discuss the role of memory. In addition, Uribe and Cano and will offer a reading of short stories under the title of "Basque Deli" and participate in the seminar "Small is Big", with Andreas Ekstrom. That very day the institute will also offer a conference on the presence of Basque literature in Europe.
