Languages and Diversity: From Recognition to International Reach

On the occasion of the 9th Congress of the Spanish Language, to be held this year in Cadiz from 27 to 30 March, the Etxepare Basque Institute, Instituto Cervantes and Institut Ramon Llull have jointly organised a round table to address the linguistic diversity and cultural collaboration of the Spanish-speaking world.

The round table will be held on 30 March at 5:00pm at the Palacio de Congresos in Cádiz. Irene Larraza Aizpurua, director of the Etxepare Basque Institute; Luis García Montero, director of Instituto Cervantes; Pere Almeda Samaranch, director of Institut Ramon Llull and honorary professor of the University of Coruña and philologist, Luciano Rodriguez, will be taking part. Jordi Gracia will host the discussion and the Minister of Territorial Policy, Isabel Rodriguez García, will open the event.

The closing event will on Thursday, 30 March, at 9:00pm with a concert, paying tribute to linguistic diversity. Performers will include the Basque musician Izaro, the Galician group Baiuca and the Catalan band Mishima. The concerts will take place in the Momart hall. Free admission.
