Last day of the Course for Teaching Basque Language and Culture in Foreign Universities, at the UPV-EHU Summer Courses

The Etxepare Basque Institute has organized again, in collaboration with University of the Basque Country Summer Courses, the Preparation Course for Teaching Basque Language and Culture in Foreign Universities. The course, directed once more by Mari Jose Olaziregi, Director for the Promotion and Dissemination of the Institute, is more extensive than ever -July 7-9- , and is analyzing, among others, issues related to literature, film, theater and gender studies, either in the form of conferences or workshops.
The Etxepare Basque Institute has currently 34 lectureships at universities outside the Basque Country, in which classes taught Basque language and culture-as 28 readers. This training course aims to strengthen the preparation of both these people and those who wish to become readers in the future. With that purpose, they have invited experts in various fields related to Basque language and culture.
The course includes experts and local and international experts: Luisa Elena Delgado (University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign), Jo Labanyi (New York University), Luis Martin-Estudillo (University of Iowa), Karlos Cid Abasolo (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), Clara Montero (Director of Cultural Promotion of the Basque Government), Miren Azkarate (UPV-EHU), Lourdes Elosegi (HABE) ... The workshops are being run by readers of network Etxepare Basque Institute, such as Olatz Sanchez Lamikiz (Universidad de Chile), Nerea Arruti (University of Aberdeen) or Arantzazu Fernandez (UNED Madrid).
