Leioa Kantika Korala Choir will be at the 10. World Symposium of Choral Music

Leioa Kantika Korala will take part in the 10. World Symposium of Choral Music to be held in Seoul, South Korea, on August 7- 14. 25 choirs from all over the world will gather in the Korean capital to show their music, as well as a large number of conferences, workshops and choral music related activities. During their stay in Asia the choir will offer some concerts in Korea and China. They will travel with the help of the Etxepare Basque Institute.
The group has been appointed ambassador for the IFCM (International Federation of Choral Music) for the years 2014 and 2015. This is a distinction only given to the choral groups that are selected to participate in the triennial World Symposium organized by this institution.
Kantika Korala was born in 2001 in the Municipal Conservatory of Leioa, and since then has given numerous performances and taken part in various competitions, becoming a benchmark. The group led by Basilio Astúlez won the First Cum Laude Prize in the Honors category at the European Youth Music Festival in May.
