Fest’Arts is an international street art festival held in August that has been captivating audiences of all ages since 1991. Each edition of Fest´Arts enlivens the streets of Libourne with a tapestry of dance, circus, theatre, and music performances. While initially conceived to highlight local cultural projects, Fest´Arts has expanded its horizons to include European and international companies.

Two Basque companies will take part in the official programme of the 2023 edition of Fest´Arts.

3 August

Place Abel Surchamp / 4:30pm & 8:30pm

HAATIK: ‘UR’

‘Ur’ is an allegory for a sustainable economy.

Since 2011, Haatik Dantza Konpainia, a company from Gipuzkoa, has been dedicated to creating its own shows and collaborating with various artists to present a diverse range of artistic offerings. Basque language and culture are the core of the company´s identity.

In 2014, Haatik started creating street performances and since then has taken part in major international theatre festivals.

3 & 4 August

Esplanade François Mitterrand / 5:00pm

ORAIN BI: ‘MUTE’

The artists behind the show ´Mute´ aim to convey a simple message: mutation is an ongoing process. ´it’s not only bugs that mutate but also structures and ourselves. People mutate to keep moving forward, to go further, higher; the greatest show on Earth!!!´. ´Mute´ premiered in 2022 at the Umore Azoka in Leioa, where it won the award for best show in the Basque Country.

Orain-Bi (circus-theatre) is Sara Álvarez and Rodrigo Lacasa. In 2019 they started their professional career together in Bilbao. They specialise in various acrobatic disciplines, such as hand-to-hand and pole acrobatics.
