Fest’Arts is an international street art festival held in August that has been captivating audiences of all ages since 1991. Each edition of Fest´Arts enlivens the streets of Libourne with a tapestry of dance, circus, theatre, and music performances. While initially conceived to highlight local cultural projects, Fest´Arts has expanded its horizons to include European and international companies.
Two Basque companies will take part in the official programme of the 2023 edition of Fest´Arts.

HAATIK: ‘UR’
‘Ur’ is an allegory for a sustainable economy.
Since 2011, Haatik Dantza Konpainia, a company from Gipuzkoa, has been dedicated to creating its own shows and collaborating with various artists to present a diverse range of artistic offerings. Basque language and culture are the core of the company´s identity.
In 2014, Haatik started creating street performances and since then has taken part in major international theatre festivals.

ORAIN BI: ‘MUTE’
The artists behind the show ´Mute´ aim to convey a simple message: mutation is an ongoing process. ´it’s not only bugs that mutate but also structures and ourselves. People mutate to keep moving forward, to go further, higher; the greatest show on Earth!!!´. ´Mute´ premiered in 2022 at the Umore Azoka in Leioa, where it won the award for best show in the Basque Country.
Orain-Bi (circus-theatre) is Sara Álvarez and Rodrigo Lacasa. In 2019 they started their professional career together in Bilbao. They specialise in various acrobatic disciplines, such as hand-to-hand and pole acrobatics.
Etxepare Basque Institute and the festival
Since 2012, the Etxepare Basque Institute has been actively supporting the involvement of Basque performing arts companies in Fest´Arts.
