Malandain Ballet Biarritz will give five performances at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris from 22 to 25 September, under the direction of Thierry Malandain.
The company will bring three works by Thierry Malandain to the Paris stage: L’Oiseau de feu, set to music by Igor Stravinsky; Boléro, to Maurice Ravel’s celebrated score; and Minuit et demi, ou le Cœur mystérieux, featuring music by Camille Saint-Saëns. The latter premiered in 2025 at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre in Donostia / San Sebastián as part of the Ballet T programme.
The programme highlights the central role of music throughout Malandain’s career, bringing his choreographic language together with works by Stravinsky, Ravel and Saint-Saëns.
Ça colle au basque
The performances are part of Ça colle au basque, an Etxepare Basque Institute initiative aimed at strengthening the presence and visibility of the Basque language, culture and creative work across the French-speaking world, while creating new opportunities for the Basque cultural ecosystem.
