Music from all over the world will gather at WOMEX from tomorrow on

The traveling fair WOMEX, one of the most important ones of the sector, turns 20 this year. This edition will be held in Santiago de Compostela from 22 to 26 October, and once again, the Basque music will attend the event with the participation of Etxepare Basque Institute.
The Basque groups Korrontzi, Oreka Tx and DJ Makala will offer concerts at the fair, and Basque companies will work in the stand of Euskadiko Soinuak. Euskadiko Soinuak is a program launched by the Department of Education, Culture and Language Policy of the Basque Government, in partnership with several professional music industries, and with the participation of Etxepare Basque Institute.
WOMEX is a professional event for the field of world music, which includes a trade show, dozens of showcases and concerts, and hopes to attract this year to some 2,500 delegates and 1,260 companies from over 90 countries, among which there will be 800 programmers, over 500 labels, publishers and distributors, as well as more than 300 journalists. In addition, the meeting also will host yhe DJ WOMEX Summit, film screenings and conferences and consulting by 80 specialists from over 25 countries.
