PASSAGE Festival is the international street theater festival of Helsingør (Denmark). Since 2004, it has been in constant evolution and in relation to the environment. Local anchorage, public space, and a high-quality artistic program are the central points of the PASSAGE Festival. This year, it will offer an extensive program from August 30 to August 3.
The performing arts meeting presents Danish and international artists, premieres of works and classic pieces, avant-garde experimentation works, and street circus and theater. All of this takes place in public spaces in Helsingør and its surroundings. This year, thanks to the agreement made between Etxepare Basque Institute and the Passage Festival, two Basque companies will participate in the festival program:
Nao-Now-Nau is born from the roots of Basque culture, its direct relationship with the sea, and the roots of the relationship between the sea and theater. A tribute to the arrantzales (fishermen) in the form of a contemporary circus show. With the horizon at sea, its people, and its customs. Steered by a lovable mime clown who, through antipodism and object manipulation, will allow us to glimpse their close and peculiar relationship with the sea.
