Itxaro Borda will be joining well-known and emerging voices in literature at ´Nuit de la poésie´, during the ´Québec en toutes lettres´ festival, which takes place from October 14 to 24. She will be in Quebec reciting old and new poetry in Basque and French on October 23.
Other participating writers include Nora Atalla, Carol-Ann Belzil-Normand, Corinne Chevarier, Daria Colonna, Anne-Marie Desmeules, Stéphane Despatie, Simon Dumas, Mireille Gagné, Flavia Garcia, Chantale Gingras, Christian Girard, Lorrie Jean-Louis, Sébastien Lamarre, Lux, Shayne Michael, Alix Paré-Vallerand, Louis-Karl Picard-Sioui, Noémie Pomerleau-Cloutier, Judy Quinn, Anne-Julie Royer, Mattia Scarpulla, Jean Sioui and Julie Stanton.
The event takes place in the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec at 8:00 pm. A round table discussion on Basque literature will be held at the Museum of Civilization (Quebec City) at 7 pm on October 16 featuring writers Itxaro Borda and Kirmen Uribe, and the director of the Etxepare Basque Institute, Irene Larraza. The events also include a presentation of the new edition of ´Chekhov vs. Shakespeare´ hosted by the Basque writer Aurelia Arkotxa and Quebecois writer Jean Désy.
