Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogota, Colombia, will showcase ‘Los Perros’ performed by the dance company Led Silhouette, as part of the collaboration with the Etxepare Basque Institute. Each year Teatro Mayor offers a window onto Basque creation under the title ´Ventana Vasca´.
The performances will take place on 6 and 7 August at 20:00 (GMT -5), in the Teatro Estudio hall.
‘Los perros’ (The dogs) aims to explore the theme of resilience through the lens of dogs that wander, encounter one another, and recognize their vulnerability. These dogs share moments of joy and pain, falling and getting back up, dancing, and rebelling through love, generosity, and commitment. Together, they embark on a shared journey to discover the meaning of their lives and to overcome violence and decay. We present a proposal that travels from the hypnotic state of repetition to the captivating flow of imagery. Our performance features images taken from the past and projected into the future, blending the present moment with echoes of history. These images transition from contemporary art forms to primal, earthly shapes, creating a continuous interplay of different times and languages.
